Accepted...Now What?

So, you’ve been accepted for admission. Here’s a checklist of your next steps.

  • Check the acceptance letter for accuracy (name, address, entry term, residency status, etc.).
  • Submit final transcripts to the Office of Admissions upon graduation from your high school or final transcripts from your last semester at another college (2200 Bonforte Blvd. Pueblo, CO 81001).
  • Submit medical records and immunization forms to Student Health Services.
  • Complete your housing contract and send deposit. This will be sent to you by mail shortly after being accepted to Colorado State University-Pueblo. Transfer students should make arrangements with University Village at Walking Stick if they plan to live on campus.
  • Apply for financial aid after Jan. 1 by completing the FAFSA application online. The deadline is March 1.
  • Complete the CSU-Pueblo scholarship application by the March 1 deadline.
  • Visit campus. Contact the Visitor and Transfer Center to schedule a campus tour, meeting with a transfer counselor or faculty advisor at 719-549-2418.
  • Attend one of the Discover CSU-Pueblo visitation days. “Special Transfer Student Sessions” are offered. Register online.
  • Respond to the offer of admission by contacting the Office of Admissions to confirm you will be a future Thunderwolf at 719-549-2461.
  • Make an appointment to meet your first-year student advisor by contacting the First Year Programs Office at 719-549-2581. Your advisor will register you for classes and sign you up for a summer orientation date. Transfer students will receive a Statement of Transfer Credit and information on meeting with their advisor and registering for classes in the mail approximately 2-3 weeks after acceptance.
  • Review the campus calendar for important dates such as: semester start and end dates, add/drop dates, tuition payment due dates, and, of course, withdrawal from class deadline dates, final exams, vacation dates, etc.
  • Explore our list of majors at Colorado State University-Pueblo. If you have not decided on a major, now is the time to start exploring your options.
  • For students with any type of disability please contact the Disability Resources Office at 719-549-2663.
  • Make sure to make contact with your first-year advisor or an admissions counselor for help with interpreting your ACT/SAT test score results. Some math and English classes require minimum scores on the ACT/SAT. If you have any questions, the Office of Admissions can help you at 719-549-2461 or the first-year advisors can be reached at 719-549-2581.
  • Items you need before classes start: books, student ID, parking permit, and email account. These needs will be addressed at student orientation. For transfer students, your student ID and parking permit are available after course registration in Auxiliary Services in the Occhiato University Center.
  • Attend university welcome events, including orientation for first-year students and CSU-Pueblo Wolf Pack Welcome for all students. For more information about upcoming events call the CSU-Pueblo Visitor and Transfer Center at 719-549-2418 or at visitorscenter@colostate-pueblo.edu.
